Named for it's defining length, the 7'6" Medium Fast powered 76er is the latest creation from the Alpha Angler design team.  The big brother of our infamous Wrench spinning rod, the 76er was developed to present finesse baits at distance to the most spooky fish.  Neko rigs, wacky senkos, little ballhead swimbaits and every other light line application works perfectly on the high modulus, Toray grade medium powered, fast action blank.

Exceptional casting distance is provided with our hybrid spinning configuration that includes Fuji KLAG choking guides down to the ALL-NEW, TiForged SS316 running guides.  Our testing showed greater casting and less braid-drag with the 76er guides over any guide train available.  Like all Alpha Angler designs, performance will always trump conventional wisdom and standard practice.  

The 76er has perfected balance, which leads to great sensitivity while preventing on-the-water fatigue.   Although overall weight is never a design objective, our prototype testers believe the 76er to be the lightest 7'6" medium powered spinning rod on the market.  

Blank:  A high modulus, sanded, natural Toray blank is the heart of the 76er.  Based on our Wrench blank, the tip is perfect for casting light baits, but isn't so light it sacrifices sensitivity.  As stated before, this rod has the power of our Tac-Mag, and the tip of the Wrench.  

Components:  Fuji KLAG choker guides tame the line from the spinning reel and transition into TiForged SS316 sized 5 running guides.  Tirelessly tested and revised, this guide train, and mathematically calculated spacing, provides effortless casting for braid with flourocarbon leaders.  Optimized for the 2500-3000 sized reels, the 76er shines with 10lb, high carrier count braid, and 6-12lb leaders.  Comfort and balance are provided with an American Tackle, grip forward, reel seat.  And finally, to finish off perfection in this design, our new Alpha Angler aluminum rear grip and cap allow for excellent control during the cast.

Design Concept:  The initial inspiration for the 76er started with Lake Shasta in Northern California.  A bucklist fishery where the spotted bass live in clear water and can be very wise to angler presence.  It was clear, the Alphas need rod that could throw baits great distances, but still protect little mosquito hooks and darter heads.  Throughout testing, the 76er's versatility with technique became very apparent.  Throw a 3/16oz ballhead on a 3.3 Keitech at Havasu, carolina-rig a speed craw for smallies on the Columbia River, to even skipping senko's under docks...  the 76er was perfect.
